Sales & Marketing

Sales and marketing meeting

Many firms do not understand the differences between each and the connection to both sales and marketing, but we do and have the results to back up our claims of success. Let's look at the definition of both to see how critical each is to the other and how they are linked.

Sales

Sales involves most or many of the following activities, including cultivating prospective buyers (or leads) in a market segment; conveying the features, advantages and benefits of a product or service to the prospective customer; and closing the sale.

Marketing

Marketing is the wide range of activities involved in making sure that the firm continues to meet the needs of its customers and getting value in return. Marketing activities are those associated with identifying the particular wants and needs of a targeted group of customers, then developing offerings and services for those customers which are better than the competitors. This involves doing market research on customers, analyzing their needs, and then making strategic decisions about product design, pricing, promotion and distribution.
